The magic of Studio Ghibli continues in this outstanding first feature from Studio Ponoc, a new animation house founded by former Ghibli staff, including director Hiromasa Yonebayashi (Arriety, When Marnie Was There). Adopted from the novel, The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart, the film centres on Mary, a bored young girl whiling through the last weeks of the summer holidays. When Mary follows a strange cat into the woods, she disccovers an unusual , glowiing flower - the Witch's Flower, which blooms once every seven years and confers great power whoever possesses it. Thrown into a grand adventure in a magical world where nothing is as it seems, Mary must learn to have confidence in herself and her abilities in order to fulfil her detiny.
