Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg directs an explosive drama about the real-life events that led to the exposure by The Washington Post of the White House cover up that became know as The Pentagon Papers.

Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks command the screen in this thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post’s Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers – and their very freedom – to help bring long-buried truths to light.

The Post marks the first time Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg have collaborated on a project. The film features an acclaimed ensemble cast including Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford and Zach Woods.

“Steven Spielberg’s Pentagon Papers movie celebrates a free and feisty press, an independent judiciary, and a woman willing to stand up to a world ruled by men...The Post is a rousing call to resistance that couldn’t feel more yimely.” SLATE

"A masterpiece." METRO

"Dazzling, thrilling, gripping ...'' USA TODAY

“The Post is a stunning film that plays like a crackerjack suspense thriller but is about nothing less than the survival of the First Amendment and the right of a free press. You’ll be on the edge of your seat in a movie that is as vital and pertinent now as it was when these events happened nearly half a century ago.” DEADLINE

"Positively invigorating. A crowd pleaser." DAILY BEAST
